My dear friend and guest, Dr. Selena La’Chelle Collazo (formerly Selena Brown), recently earned her Ph.D. from Brown University’s department of Theatre Arts & Performance Studies. Selena also holds masters degrees in Education and Counseling Psychology. She is a leading Partner at WholeSchool Mindfulness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting those working at the intersection of education, mindfulness, and social justice. Additionally, Selena is a psychotherapist serving Black women and queer, trans, and nonbinary folx of color through mindfulness-based approaches rooted in Liberation Psychology.  Selena and her partner Enrique Collazo are poised to launch KarunaWisdom, a virtual gathering space for BIPOC community building through relational mindfulness. Originally from Southern California, Selena and Enrique currently live in Oakland with their pitbull Maya, and honor the ongoing rematriation of the Ohlone Territories upon which they gratefully reside.
